    • Web development is the process of creating, building, and maintaining websites or web applications that run on the internet. It involves a combination of programming, design, and problem-solving skills to develop websites that are functional, user-friendly, and visually appealing.

      It mainly includes two parts:

      1. Frontend Development
This is everything users see and interact with on a website. It includes layout, colors, buttons, images, animations, and navigation. Frontend developers use technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to bring designs to life.

      2. Backend Development
This is the hidden part of a website that users don’t see. It includes servers, databases, and application logic that power the site. Backend developers use languages like PHP, Python, Node.js, Java, and manage databases like MySQL, MongoDB, etc.

A complete web developer who works on both frontend and backend is called a Full-Stack Developer.

Web development also involves tools and frameworks such as React, Angular, Django, Laravel, and Express.js to speed up development and improve performance.

Overall, web development is a fast-growing field that helps bring ideas, businesses, and services online through dynamic and interactive websites.

      Course Content

      Chapter 1
Chapter 1 provides a foundational understanding of what web development is and how the internet works behind the scenes. This chapter introduces students to the core concepts, tools, and technologies essential for building websites and web applications. The chapter begins by explaining the difference between websites and web applications, and how browsers, servers, and the internet communicate through the HTTP/HTTPS protocols. Students also learn about the client–server model, which forms the backbone of all online systems. A key focus of this chapter is understanding the three main building blocks of web development: HTML (HyperText Markup Language) – the structure of web pages CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) – the design, layout, and styling JavaScript – the interactivity and dynamic features This chapter also covers the role of web developers, introduces the types of development (frontend, backend, and full-stack), and highlights the importance of modern frameworks, responsive design, and version control tools like Git. By the end of Chapter 1, students will have a strong introduction to the web world, its basic components, and the skills required to begin their web development journey.

      Chapter 2
Chapter 2 focuses on the foundation of every website — HTML (HyperText Markup Language). This chapter teaches how to create the structure and layout of a web page using different HTML elements. It introduces the concept of tags, attributes, and the hierarchical structure that forms the backbone of web content. Students learn how to create essential page elements such as: Headings (h1–h6) Paragraphs (p) Links (a) Images (img) Lists (ul, ol, li) Tables Forms and input fields The chapter also explains the HTML document structure, including the , , , and sections. Learners understand how browsers read and render HTML content and how semantic elements like <header>, <footer>, <section>, and <article> improve readability and SEO. Additionally, Chapter 2 gives an introduction to: Attributes (id, class, src, href, etc.) Block vs inline elements Best practices for writing clean, organized HTML By the end of Chapter 2, students will be able to build a basic but complete webpage structure and understand how content is arranged on the web. This chapter forms the essential step before moving into styling and interactivity.

      Chapter 3
Chapter 3 introduces students to CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) — the language used to style and design web pages. While HTML creates the structure, CSS brings the website to life with colors, layouts, fonts, spacing, and attractive visual elements. This chapter starts with the basics of how CSS works and how it can be applied to an HTML document using three main methods: Inline CSS Internal CSS External CSS (the most commonly used method) Students learn about selectors, properties, and values, which form the foundation of CSS. Common selectors such as element, class, and ID selectors are explained in detail. Key concepts covered in this chapter include: Colors and backgrounds Fonts and text styling Margins and padding Borders and outlines The box model — an essential concept for layout design Display types (block, inline, inline-block, none) Using classes and IDs for styling Basic layout techniques The chapter also gives an introduction to responsive design basics, explaining how websites adjust to different screen sizes using media queries. By the end of Chapter 3, students will be able to style web pages effectively and create visually appealing layouts. This chapter forms the basis for advanced design topics like Flexbox, Grid, animations, and responsive UI.

      Chapter 4
Chapter 4 introduces students to JavaScript, the programming language that adds life and interactivity to web pages. While HTML provides structure and CSS adds design, JavaScript makes websites dynamic, responsive, and user-friendly. This chapter begins with the basics of JavaScript, explaining how scripts are added to web pages using tags. Students learn about variables, data types, operators, and basic syntax, which form the foundation of programming in JavaScript. Key concepts covered in this chapter include: Variables and constants Data types (string, number, boolean, array, object, etc.) Operators (arithmetic, comparison, logical) Functions and events Conditional statements (if, else) Loops (for, while) DOM (Document Object Model) manipulation A major highlight of this chapter is understanding how JavaScript interacts with HTML elements using the DOM, allowing developers to: Change text, images, and styles Respond to user actions like clicks, input, and mouse movements Show/hide elements Validate form inputs Students also learn about event listeners, which help make web pages interactive by responding to real-time user activity. By the end of Chapter 4, learners will be able to create dynamic behavior on their websites, such as interactive buttons, alerts, animations, and form validation. This chapter serves as the foundation for advanced JavaScript concepts, frameworks, and full-stack development.

      Chapter 5
Chapter 5 focuses on how websites are published and made accessible to users on the internet. After learning how to build and style web pages, this chapter teaches students how to take their project from a local computer and deploy it live on the web. The chapter begins by explaining the concept of web hosting, domain names, and how servers store website files so people can access them anytime. Students learn how DNS (Domain Name System) works and why domain registration is important for any online presence. Key topics covered in this chapter include: Types of hosting (shared, VPS, cloud hosting, dedicated hosting) Domain names and DNS basics Website deployment process Uploading files using FTP/SFTP or hosting dashboards Version control with Git and GitHub for deployment Hosting static vs. dynamic websites The chapter also introduces popular hosting platforms such as GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel, and traditional hosting services. Students learn the step-by-step process of connecting a domain, setting up hosting, and publishing a website live. By the end of Chapter 5, learners will understand how to deploy, manage, and update websites on the internet. This chapter completes the journey from development to real-world launch, giving students the skills to confidently publish their own web projects.
